I wish I had better news for you. The fact is that you are the only one who can determine if your current career is meeting all of your goals and dreams.

There really are some people who are better as employees than entrepreneurs. We will start through the analysis for you to decide what is best for you.

Setting up and building a successful online business provides tremendous freedom and income potential; however, it is not for everyone.

Yes, you want to live the life of your dreams. You want time freedom and you want enough income to support your family and plan for your future. You probably want to retire young enough to still enjoy life. Most people want to be able to give back to their community and give to their favorite charities.

Analyze what is really important to you. Once you know your target, it is easier to devise a plan to reach it. Start making a list of things you MUST HAVE, things you WANT and things you do NOT want.

Knowing this important criteria is step one. In step two, we will analyze your current situation as it relates to your future.

Day 2 – “Most Entrepreneurs Will Never Be Abundantly Successful"

Allow me to present some facts:

• Statistics reveal that 97% of all businesses, regardless of type - franchise, brick and mortar, home based business - do not achieve abundant success.

• Entrepreneur Magazine says that 90% of all new businesses will fail within the first 5 years

• 69 % of all new businesses started last year were home based businesses. Why? More time schedule freedom, lower start up cost and unlimited income potential.

Forbes Magazine reports that despite the odds of success, people are starting new businesses every day.

Of course everyone wants a better lifestyle for themselves and their family. You would think someone was weird or totally irresponsible if they did not want better life for themselves and their family. Nicer cars, nicer homes, nicer vacations, more income lures people into the quest for a business of their own.

The key is selecting the best business, the best income structure, the best product and the best coach and mentor.

Shock! Sit down and take a deep breath. I am not going to try to convince you to select a specific business. My goal is to help you find what is best for you.

Do not be lured into the latest and greatest. Select what is best for you.

Two things are key once you have selected the best business for you. You must market the business and you must know how to operate it as a business and not a hobby.

Day 3 – “Pay Attention to the Traffic Lights”

Are you at the intersection right now debating about whether your career light is red, green or yellow? Are you feeling trapped in your career? You worked so hard to develop your profession and spent so much money on your education that you don’t think you can leave, but you are no longer happy? How productive do you honestly believe you are when you feel trapped? An even bigger question; is it fair to the people you serve when you no longer feel passionate about your career?

Are you living on Someday Isle? Someday I will travel; someday I will sail around the world; someday I will (you fill in the blank.) Denis Waitley, world renowned author and speaker, once said he would like to place an ad in every newspaper in the country.

Lost, one 24 karat golden day each hour filled with 60 diamond minutes, each hour filled with 60 ruby seconds. No need looking for it. It is already gone. It was today.

The clock of our life starts ticking the moment we enter this world. Why waste each precious day, month and year being unhappy? Life is precious. Life is to be enjoyed. You may be surprised to discover that when you are doing something which excites your passion, you will actually be even more successful than you are right now.

Gaze long and intensely at the traffic light you are now facing. What color do you honestly see for your present?

DAY 4 - “Red Light, Green Light, Yellow Light”

Red traffic light? Stop and investigate a new direction before you waste another precious day being unhappy. The act of investigating a new direction will ignite feelings of excitement, nervous trepidation and challenge. No excitement? Re-examine the new direction until you feel your heart pound a little faster.

Talk to any mega successful person and they will tell you that they remember the exact moment when they made “the decision.” They made “the decision” which turned their life around for the positive. They remember where they were and to whom they were speaking. People fail to achieve goals unless they are passionate about the result. The old saying “regret weighs tons” has validity.

Knowledge gained is never lost. Most mega successful people have experienced several businesses before they hit the perfect winner for them. Does they mean that they were a failure in each of the previous businesses? Of course not. They learned each step of the journey. Pay attention to the traffic light of your career staring you in the face.

Green traffic light? Go ahead; you may be on the right path. If the light is green and you are still not happy, examine your attitude and expectations? Consider rewarding yourself for the success you have already achieved. Look where you started and remember your dream. Every career hits snags and roadblocks. If your light is green, get going and take positive action. Make a list of 5 major action steps to take each day to move your life and career forward. Write your list at night in order for your subconscious to work on it while you are sleeping. First thing in the morning, review your list of 5 and complete them.

Yellow traffic light? Caution, you may need to carefully examine your goals. Are your actions each day moving you toward your goals or away from your target? Draw a line down the center of a piece of paper and use the “Ben Franklin” decision process. On the left side of the line write down every factor you do not like about your current career or life situation. On the right column, write down every element you like about your profession and your life. Take whatever time you require to know that you have a complete list in both columns. Weigh the facts on each side of the line.

Ask yourself what you could do to make each item on the “dislike” column a little more favorable. It may be possible to change minor elements of the disliked item to increase its desirability.

Which list contains the more important factors to you? The length of the list and the importance to you of each item matters. Still uncertain? Keep analyzing. Do not get caught in analysis paralysis in order to avoid taking any action. Review it again and make a decision for red or green.

DAY 5 - “Set Goals You are Passionate about Achieving”

Enjoy the view from the top of the mountain. Gaze across the vista knowing you have achieved your goals and dreams. The climb, like childbirth, is worth every minute of the struggle when you inhale the sweet scent of achievement and hold the result in your heart.

Entire sections of libraries are dedicated to goal setting. 99% of Americans make a New Years resolution and break it by January 30 or even January 3. Some may hold on until February or March. Check the “for sale” columns and e-Bay for all the weight equipment advertised for sale in February and March. All of the “highly enthused” purchasers of a home gym at Christmas have given up in 2 or 3 months. Why? You write down what you think you should do instead of what you passionately commit to do.

Do you even know your most profound passionate desires? Have you buried them so deeply in your subconscious that it requires a jackhammer to extract them?

In order to determine the best idea for you, drill down into your soul to discover your passion.

Determine what it is that makes your blood boil with passion. What is so important to you that you are willing to stand up to your mother-in-law and declare it? Well, maybe that’s unrealistic, but be willing to use it as an example for your kids. What do you want to leave as part of your legacy?

Every choice you make either takes you closer to your goals or further away. How can you answer that thought and direct your efforts unless you are crystal clear on your target?

Why do you even bother setting goals? Why invest the time and effort? Flying by the seat of your pants is similar to a child “doing what feels good at the moment” rather than a mature adult carefully executing a well organized game plan.

Why don’t more people set goals? Some, myself included, grew up without ever hearing about goals until we left home. Other people fear criticism from friends, family or co-workers. It is easier for most people to drag the Joneses down to their level than try to reach up to the Jones higher standard.

People frequently fear success even more than failure. Failure is more familiar. Success means they will have to change their associations, maybe even where they live or the social memberships they currently enjoy. It is not goal setting some fear as much as goal achieving.

DAY 6 - “Exercise for Determining Your Passionate Goals”

Stop reading right this second and grab a tablet and pencil, pens run out of ink at the most inopportune times. Set a timer on your i phone or microwave or even your watch.

• Write as fast as you possibly can for ten minutes. Write everything you would love to do, places you want to go, achievements you desire.

• Dream, fantasize and free flow write

• In a perfect world with no restrictions. I would like to . . .

• DO NOT ANALYZE, JUST WRITE

When the timer rings, sit back and take a sip of water. Catch your breath. Now look at what you have written.

Break them into 4 categories: Personal Growth, Professional, Financial, and Fun. Within each category, break them down into time frames of 1 year, 3 years, 5 years and 10 years.

Check your heart. If they don’t make your heart beat a little faster and put a warm fuzzy smile in your soul, consider crossing them off the list. Luke warm desires bake a cake of disaster.

For each of your top 3 goals in each category write 5 compelling reasons why you will persist until the goals are achieved. If your “why” is not big enough, your “what” will not matter.

Within the 1 year category, break the targets down into time circles. On the outer ring write 1 year, the next smaller ring is 9 months, then 6 months, then 3 months, 1 month, one week and the bulls eye (center) is today. You should have 7 circles.

Give each goal the SMART test

S – Specific

M – Measurable

A – Attainable

R – Relevant

T - Timely

Write out each one of your top 6 goals. Write the goals and pay attention to which of the 4 sections receives the emphasis. Write in present tense – I am, I am in the process of, I can, I will, I know, my income is, my net worth is . . . Feel the emotion. Winning choices require positive, passionate statements and feelings. Goals must make you stretch but not beyond all possibility.

DAY 7 - “Wheel of Fortune“

You MUST celebrate your successes every day. Journaling has become quite popular in the last 15 years or so. Personally I use and recommend a success journal or a gratitude journal or both. Centering your focus on your successes and your gratefulness imprints positive images on your subconscious mind.

Targets do not inspire you? Make a Wheel of Fortune. Draw a circle the size of a tangerine in the center of a sheet of paper. Insert a picture or words in the center; select something which is the core of your life. For many people this may be the Lord’s Prayer or another religious symbol. Others have placed a picture of their family in the center circle. Draw 6 spokes out from the circumference of the circle. On each line write one of your top 6 goals from any of the 4 categories. For instance if one of the goals was a new home, then add a picture of that ideal new home at the tip of the line. Your mind thinks in pictures, give your sub conscious mind a picture to enhance the thought.

Unless you are truly passionate about your goals and committed to achieve them, erase them from the list. People achieve their “must” goals and their “passionately desired” goals. Rarely does anyone achieve the “ho hum” goals.
